Your website is built with WordPress which is a dynamic platform perfect for websites that require regular updating. Dynamic websites need regular maintenance to make sure they are kept up-to-date because a neglected website can become vulnerable to hacking attempts. We apply certain security measures on our websites to mitigate against this, but if the WordPress platform and the plugins are not updated, the chances of a cyber attack increase.

How to tell if your site needs updating

If you log in to the dahboard of your website you should see an alert that updates are required. These will be shown on the dashboard ‘welcome’ page and also in the sidebar in the form of an orange circle with a number in it next to ‘Plugins’.

The above alert shows that 15 plugins need to be updated. Click ‘Plugins’ and you will see a list of the plugins that are used and a notice asking you to update. Click the ‘update now’ link to update the plugins to the latest version

Doing this will mean your site will saty safe and secure and reduce the chance of something horrible happening to it.
